Hello Students!
Remote Learning for Thursday: All assignments and detailed instructions have been uploaded in Google Classroom (check for details) 1 - Reading Leonardo's Horse (reading book) p.360-371 Directions: Read, Leonardo’s Horse p.360-371. Answer the questions below after you read, remember what you learned about Greek root words, the Middle Ages/Renaissance, and how artists inspire people. 1. On p.363, the text that says that Leonardo stopped to examine everything. How does this support the idea that he might be a great artist? 2. Use what you already know about the Renaissance (yesterday’s reading) and the attitude toward artists, along with what you have read about Leonardo’s character, to make a prediction about what might happen to Leonardo as he grows up? 3. On p.362, why did the author begin by showing what young Leonardo was like? Why is this effective? 4. In the word astronomer, you see the root “astr” and the suffix “er”. The Greek root “astr” means star. The suffix “er” means one who. If I put these meaning together, what can I learn about the word astronomer? 5. In what ways was Leonardo different? Use text evidence from the text (p.364-365) to support your answer. 6. Summarize the part of the text that explains why Leonardo went to Milan. Then, mention where the information is located. 7. Why did Leonardo decide to not send the letter and instead travel to Milan? 8. Why does the duke put Leonardo in charge of the entertainment in the palace? 9. Earlier, you learned Leonardo hated to see caged birds. How does that relate to Leonardo’s desire to build a free-looking horse?10. Summarize the first paragraph on p.369, by restating the Main Idea of the paragraph. 2 - English worksheets attached (go to google classroom) 3 - Math Review the video first (https://youtu.be/cNWesXi7Sf0) Multiple-Step Problems p.148-149, (1-12) 4 - ELA/Writing Travel Brochure review the video first (https://youtu.be/i6BTfNQiXXI) Introduction Paragraph Brainstorm worksheet (go to google classroom) Complete Introduction paragraph
